Small group English lesson for teachers in Artà

Plenty of teachers can read English perfectly well and still freeze when they have to speak it in front of colleagues. This course is aimed squarely at that gap.

The approach is communicative from start to finish: you improve by talking, in small groups, about things worth talking about. Mornings are lessons and workshops; the rest of the week takes the language outside — a guided tour of Artà, the local market, and two school visits, one in Artà and one in Felanitx, where you interview teachers and students in English.

Morning-only sessions leave the afternoons free to explore Mallorca.

Who it is for

Teachers and school staff with an A2 to B1 level of English (CEFR) who want to speak more and worry less. Content is adapted to each group's level and interests.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Introduction and programme overview

    • Welcome session and icebreakers: introduce yourself and your school
    • Overview of course objectives and the weekly schedule
    • Orientation: cultural highlights of Artà and tips for exploring Mallorca

  2. Day 2

    Personal interests & the school environment

    • Lesson focus: expressing personal interests and hobbies
    • Describing your school environment and comparing it across cultures
    • Preparing the questions you will ask during this week's two school visits
    • Guided tour of Artà

  3. Day 3

    School visit (1) — CC Sant Salvador, Artà

    • Morning at the school: attending lessons and meeting the staff
    • Interviews in English with local teachers and students
    • Reflection session: what you observed, and how to describe it in English

  4. Day 4

    Travelling, food & everyday conversation

    • Vocabulary and conversation for travel, eating out and local cuisine
    • Role-plays: planning a trip, asking for directions, ordering at a restaurant
    • Guided visit to Artà's market, using the language in a real setting

  5. Day 5

    School visit (2) — Cooperativa d'Ensenyament Es Lledoner, Felanitx

    • Morning at the school: attending lessons and meeting the staff
    • Interviews with teachers and students, exchanging ideas on education
    • Reflection on both visits and on the cultural insights of the week

  6. Day 6

    Portfolio presentations & closure

    • Each participant shares highlights and ideas for classroom application
    • Feedback, wrap-up and certificate ceremony
